10th Annual CAE in Cybersecurity Community Symposium CALL for SUBMISSIONS CD Track Proposals

Dear CAE-CD POCs,

 

Greetings. On behalf of the CAE-CD Community Symposium Planning Committee,  we are seeking proposals from CAE in Cybersecurity (Cyber Defense) community members for lightning talks, presentations, mini workshops, and posters for the 10th annual CAE in Cybersecurity Symposium. The Symposium will be held June 8-9, 2023 in Seattle, WA. For Symposium updates, please visit www.caecommunity.org.

 

Following are guideline highlights for proposed topics for lightning talks, presentations, mini workshops, and posters. Please keep in mind that there are a limited number of sessions. The Symposium's community-generated program will showcase best practices, stories of successful collaborations, lessons learned, future directions, and solutions to community-wide issues within the CAE-CD track. Lightning Talks

Time slots: 10 minutes per session

Lightning talks are presented in front of the CAE-CD conference body to inspire others. To keep the sessions flowing, there will be no Q&A from the audience after the lightning talks. Topics should be of interest to members of the CAE-C community. The CAE in Cybersecurity Community logo should be included on any presentation materials. 

NOTE: Presentation materials are optional for lightning talks. If using materials, submissions accepted for presentation must provide materials for publication to the CAE-C Community website by May 1, 2023, prior to the CAE in Cybersecurity Symposium.

 

Presentations/Mini Workshops

Time slots: 20 minutes per session

Presentation and mini workshop time slots are available for Symposium participants. These should inform and engage the audience, being of interest to the CAE in Cybersecurity Community. The session time slot is inclusive of any engagement or Q&A with the audience. The CAE in Cybersecurity Community logo should be included on any presentation materials.

NOTE: Submissions accepted for presentation are required to provide presentation materials for publication to the CAE-C Community website by May 1, 2023, prior to the CAE in Cybersecurity Symposium.

 

Project Posters

Unaccompanied poster; 20 maximum

Poster spaces are available for Symposium participants. Poster content should be informative and of interest to the CAE in Cybersecurity Community. The 24” x 36” posters will be displayed on easels for Symposium participants to view between sessions throughout the duration of the Symposium and will be unaccompanied (students cannot attend the Symposium). Proposals are due by the date noted above and finished posters must be submitted in ready-to-print format if accepted. CAE-CD faculty may submit poster proposals for their own project or on behalf of students. Examples can be found on theCIPhER website. 

NOTE: Accepted submissions are required to provide an electronic file of the poster for printing to the CAE-C Community email inbox by May 1, 2023, prior to the CAE in Cybersecurity Symposium. 

Here are a few reminders:

  • Proposals are due by March 23, 2023. 
  • Lightning talks must be no more than 10 minutes and presentation materials are optional. Presentations and workshops must be no more than 20 minutes and presentation materials are required. Posters will be on display without presentation and viewable by Symposium attendees.
  • All materials for accepted submissions will be due by May 1, 2023.
