The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is excited to announce that the Federal Virtual Training Environment (FedVTE) has added two new cybersecurity courses, which are available to the public: Cloud Computing Security and Foundations of Cybersecurity for Management. Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT), and Veteran users can also access these courses, track their progress, and store course transcripts.

The two-and-a-half-hour Cloud Computing Security course explores guidance from the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Security Agency (NSA), and several Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). The course covers topics such as cloud security risks and threats, basic operations, incident response considerations, as well as application, data, and infrastructure security concepts. It also includes demonstrations of cloud provider tools and capabilities to reinforce key points.

The two-hour Foundations of Cybersecurity for Managers course is designed for stakeholders involved in decision-making for security in a cyber environment, but do not have a strong technical background. The course focuses on cybersecurity concepts and methodologies involved in building a resilient cyber enterprise. On completing this course, users will better understand how people and technology work together to protect mission critical assets, as well as the frameworks leveraged to assess and apply security controls. The course progresses from governance, laws, and regulations, to threats and corresponding controls and countermeasures, and concludes with strategies for business continuity.
