NSF-funded Student/Faculty Travel Grants for
The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education

The 20th Colloquium to be held in Philadelphia, PA (June 11-15, 2016) is pleased to announce the availability of competitive travel grants for advanced PhD students and early-career tenure-track faculty to attend the conference and pre-conference workshops. Grant recipients are expected to participate in the Poster session.
The funds for the travel grants provided by the National Science Foundation are available only to full-time PhD students and full-time tenure-track faculty at US institutions. PhD students/faculty may apply for funding for up to $2,000/$2,500 USD. Eligible expenses for reimbursement include student/early registration, hotel (double occupancy for students), and transportation (airfare, bus, or train). Travel grants will be handled in the form of reimbursement after the conference once all required documentation and receipts are received.

May 19, 2016: Travel Award Decisions Announced

Eligibility Requirements:
Advanced PhD Students:
- Full-time Student at US Institution
- Expected Graduation no later than December 2017
Early-career Faculty:
- Full-time Tenure Track Faculty at US Institution
- Graduation PhD no earlier than January 2013
Application Procedure for PhD Students/Faculty: Submit the following as one pdf document through Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=20thcissescholar):
- 2-page NSF-style CV.
- Cost estimate (registration conference, registration workshop, transportation, hotel).
- One page statement by applicant on how attending the 20th Colloquium willbenefit the applicant's career goals in furthering cybersecurity education and how the applicant envisions to integrate his/her research in cybersecurity into his/her educational activities in cybersecurity in the future. Faculty applicants are also expected to discuss which courses they have taught to date in cybersecurity.
- Recommendation by advisor (for PhD student) / department chair (for faculty): Confirming student's/faculty member's status at the institution (as per eligibility requirements). Confirming how remainder of expenses will be covered in case expenses exceed the awarded travel grant. Discussing student's/faculty member's interest and efforts in furthering both education and research in cybersecurity.
