What Is C5?

C5 is an NSF funded project to Catalyze Cybersecurity and Computing in Community Colleges.  The C5 project has two main goals:  1)  increase the number of CAE2Ys, and create a nationwide network of community colleges that have met national standards in cybersecurity education, producing more and better prepared graduates, and ultimately leading to a more secure nation, and 2) develop a new CSP-Cyber course that will provide a different dimension to cybersecurity education at community colleges--as a key foundational computer science/cybersecurity course it will introduce a large number of students to the principles of computing and cybersecurity disciplines in an integrated format.

What is the CRT?

CRT stands for Course Review Team, and is an integral part of goal 2, the CSP-Cyber Course.  The Course Review Team will be responsible for reviewing the CSP-Cyber course as it is being developed to ensure that the course is adapted to community college needs.  C5 is now actively recruiting 15 additional members to serve on the CRT.  The grant provides an honorarium of $1000 to CRT members, with the work starting in mid-January 2016 and lasting through June 2016.
