INSuRE+C (where the C stands for Collaborative) will once again be available to all CAE-R institutions and their research-active faculty for AY23-24.  INSuRE+C builds on a long-standing involvement and relationship with Problem Mentors (PMs) from government agencies and labs through INSuRE+E (where E stands for Education). Different from INSuRE+E, INSuRE+C invites all research-active faculty and their team (with up to 3 students) to propose projects on problems supplied by the PMs. All proposals will be reviewed by the PMs.  Selected teams will work with the PMs throughout the AY 2023-24 with optional continuation into Summer 2024. No funding is provided during the academic year, but teams may apply for summer funding (which includes a stipend of $21K for the supervising faculty members and $15K for each of the participating students). Summer funding is competitive and funding may not be available to all projects.  Multi-PI projects - possibly across institutions - are allowed.
