Dear SE CAE Colleagues,
Following a successful pilot year, the 502 Project is planning a rapid expansion in 2023 through a sub award program aimed at universities and state colleges throughout the SE CAE Region.
Funded via a $2M award from the NCAE-C, the 502 Project works with partnering academic institutions to connect existing and upcoming cybersecurity education programs aimed at high-school students to a broadly inclusive, persistent community of peers and cybersecurity mentors. Overall, the program aims to maintain the enthusiasm and connections fostered by cybersecurity camps, clubs, and events hosted at partnering academic institutions, providing community access to virtual events, cybersecurity challenges, and cybersecurity mentors.
Through the 502 Project Subaward program, we are soliciting proposals from universities and state colleges with existing or upcoming high-school education programs, ideally those with broad community impact. Competitive proposals will describe how partnering institutions will connect their programs, students, and cybersecurity professional networks to the 502 Project, in service of facilitating a broadly inclusive cybersecurity community of practice. Full proposal requirements are listed in the attached call for proposals. The deadline for proposals is 1/10/2023 - to be sent via e-mail to 502ProjectUSF@gmail.com.
Additional information about the sub award program and RFP will be provided at an upcoming webinar on 10/25 at 1:00PM EST. We ask that all participants register for the event using the 502 Project RFP Webinar Registration Form. For those unable to attend, the webinar will be recorded and made available via YouTube following the event.
All questions regarding the 502 Project Subaward program may be directed to Dr. Nathan Fisk, PI of the 502 Project, via e-mail at fisk@usf.edu.
