INSA is pleased to host Bill Lietzau, Director of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA),for Wednesday Wisdom on February 24 from 4:30-5:15 pm ET. Tune into this interactive program, moderated by INSA Vice President Larry Hanauer, to gain insights into key DCSA focus areas.
The conversation will address how DCSA continues to balance competing priorities—including personnel vetting, critical technology protections, and industrial security—how the pandemic has impacted its ability to execute the mission, the status of Trusted Workforce 2.0, and the role of industry in helping develop and implement better security policies and practices.
About Bill Lietzau
As director of DCSA, Bill Lietzau leads both personnel vetting and critical technology protection missions under DCSA and manages approximately 12,000 federal and contract support personnel worldwide, among other responsibilities. Prior, Mr. Lietzau served as the Director of the Personnel Vetting Transformation Office where he managed the transfer of the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) to the DCSA and initiated and led associated transformational efforts. Mr. Lietzau's previous experience also includes time in the private sector as Vice President of a large government services contractor where he initially served as Deputy General Counsel; over three years as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Rule of Law and Detainee Policy; time with the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council; and 27 years in the Marine Corps, from which he retired as a Colonel.
