You are invited to participate in a two-day workshop covering the Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) application, Knowledge Unit (KU) Mapping and Refinement, and training for participants working in various roles to support the CAE application process. The workshop is being hosted by Forsyth Technical Community College. Dates: February 16-17, 2017 Schedule: Day 1 – Thursday, February 16 8:00am to 5:00pm CAE Application Workshop Intended for institutions interested in designating or re-designating as a CAE • KU Mapping • CAE Application Criteria Review Led by Corrinne Sande Day 2 – Friday, February 17 8:00am - 12:00 pm: KU Refinement Workshop Intended for the Point of Contact (POC) of re-designating institutions, peer reviewers, mentors, advisors, and pre-submission reviewers Led by Art Conklin 1:00- 5:00pm Training for CAE peer reviewers, mentors, advisors, and pre-submission reviewers Led by Margaret Leary and Corrinne Sande If you are interested in attending but are not able to attend on these dates, please note that additional workshops following this structure will be held regionally later in the year, with the next one tentatively taking place in June in Hunstville, AL. Travel Funding Available: A limited number of travel stipends for invited participants to attend the 2-day workshop are available. In order to receive a stipend you must register and be approved by the organizers. In order to be eligble for reimbursement or a travel stipend, attendees must participate in workshops on both days and complete a travel reimbursement/stipend form provided on site. This workshop and travel funds are being funded by the CAE Regional Resource Center (CRRC) at Forsyth Technical Community College, the CAE National Resource Center (CNRC) at Northern Virginia Community College and the Catalyzing Computing and the Cybersecurity in Community Colleges (C5) grant, funded by the National Science Foundation and based at Whatcom Community College.Registration: This event is by invitation only.
