Cyber Training, Education, and Workforce Development for the Evolving Threat
7th Annual Southeastern Cyber Security Summit, June 3 - 4, 2015, Von Braun Center, Huntsville, AL
This is a call for “original” short papers addressing the area of cybersecurity education and/or research. Unpublished papers of length 5 to 8 pages are solicited. Cybersecurity is a multidisciplinary field including information security, fraud examination, forensic science, military science, management science, systems engineering, security engineering, criminology, computer science, and others . The 7th Annual Southeastern Cyber Summit Education track solicits education oriented and/or research papers in the following areas (non-exclusive list):

- Spreadsheet Forensics
- Secure Architectures
- Societal Impacts/Ethics
- Securing the Internet of Things
- Interplay of technical and nontechnical issues in cybersecurity

The Southeast Region Cyber Security Summit: The Southeast Region Cyber Summit is an annual event in Huntsville Alabama with an expectation of about 900 participants and 60 or more exhibitors. Huntsville is home to the Army’s Redstone Arsenal and NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Army Material Command (AMC) is headquartered at Redstone Army Arsenal as well as the Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center, Missile Defense Agency, Army Space & Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, PEO Aviation and various other government organizations having a strong interest in cybersecurity. Huntsville is also home to the second largest research park in the nation where approximately 300 companies conduct business. This Cyber Security Summit offers an ideal venue for networking with government, industry, and Department of Defense attendees.
Attendance generally exceeds 750 with 60 or more exhibitors. The theme for the 2015 Summit is “Cyber Training, Education, and Workforce Development for the Evolving Threat”.
Requirements for Paper Submission
Papers should be 5 to 8 pages and formatted in accordance with the ACM template found at www.acm.org/sigs/publications/pubform.doc. If the paper being submitted is a “student paper” (high school, undergraduate, or graduate student) – please indicate so under the title of the submitted paper. All papers will be refereed. Submissions should be uploaded to https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=scss2015. Accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings. Submissions should be received not later thanMarch 20, 2015. Notices of acceptance will be provided not later than May 15, 2015.
